<< Back
Begin the Course

ComputerGiven a few basic skills, computers aren't that hard to work with. Some advanced computer skills do pose a real challenge, but these are not what you're after. You just want to learn the basics of computers and the Windows operating system.

By the end of this course, you will be able to use the Microsoft Windows XP operating system with confidence. You will have the ability to: identify your computer's basic components; open, close, and save files; open and operate software programs; navigate your computer's hard drive; print documents; troubleshoot problems; and much more.

The only prerequisite you need before beginning this course is a desire to know more about computers.

How to Take this Course
This course is different from most of our courses; it is provided solely as a way to learn the basics of the Windows XP operating system, and as such there is nothing to turn in to your mentor once you're finished. Simply use the outline below, or the course map on the left side of the screen, to locate the learning activity pages that teach the skills you need to learn in order to master Windows XP. You can go through all of the skills sequentially, from top to bottom, if you wish, or simply access the specific skills you need to complete the course. It's up to you.

Course Duration
It will take you approximately 5 hours to complete this course.
